The "Singing Canary" This page should already be singing, if not see the message below in RED. ---- Press the [Esc] key to kill the sound.----The Fife Canary is one of the best singers you will find, but remember its only the cocks (boys) that sing. For details on HOW TO SEX A CANARY <--- Click here The question is often asked - Do you need to teach your bird to sing? The simple answer is No, however if you are a breeder you need to keep a couple of good singing cocks around your young birds when they have left the nest, so that they will have something to copy. Another question is - My bird has stopped singing, What do I do? Singers stop singing when they are moulting, which is in early Autumn and in most cases return to song after about 4-6 weeks. Sometimes he may not sing until the weather warms up, particularly when the climate is cold. He will also stop singing if he is ill, so if the singing stops you may have a problem if its not moulting time. - Hearing me May NOT be automatically playing in products other than Microsoft Internet Explorer. - [clicking here you may be lucky, but you will need to use your browser Back key to return.] - If the above won't make a sound it could be caused by a couple of things, you don't have a sound card or your speakers are switched off. - or your version of Browser is too old.
